Everybody who has tried living for a while will agree, that life is indeed strange. But it's also the name of a game I would recommend to everyone who appreciates unique storylines and likes discovering sweet little adventures along the way.
But to be formal and analytical about it, let me objectify everything I love about this game:
The concept
In "Life is strange" you can, in fact alter the story based on the decisions you make. I like that about a game, because that is why we play and not just watch a movie, because we want to be part of the story, we want to have an impact, even if that means to feel guilty afterwards. No spoilers here, but that game gave me so much feels, that were even more intensive, because I knew that it was my decision that fucked up the situation.
The style
Let's face it, Lis is not an example for high-end graphics but it sure sets the mood right. And I love the mix of 3D-animations and simple hand-drawn illustrations.
Take a look at this stunning atmospheric screen shots by Dead End Thrills: deadendthrills.com/gallery/?gi… (I didn't know that game photography was an art form until I did!)
The characters
Yes, Max and Chloe are awesome, no doubt. But don't underestimate the supporting characters. They might seem a bit flat at first, but they unfold like a shy peacock once you get to know them - and you DO want to get to know them!
The music
Thanks to "Life is strange" I discovered some artists I've been hearing in a loop ever since. Plus if there is a scene where you can just sit and play the guitar for no reason but for calming down, it has got to be good.
The love for detail
From the animals running around campus over the room plants to every single poster in the hall everything seems to have meaning and is so so beautifully crafted. You really need to take your time to discover all the little treasures and hidden jokes.
The Timey-wimey-stuff
I’m a sucker for time-travel related stuff. This game not only keeps you awake at night thinking about all the “what ifs”, but also offers you a list of nice time-travel movies, some of which I didn’t know before, so thanks Warren!
The references
Despite the obvious Doctor Who and Douglas Adams references I was really lucky that I’v just read “The Catcher In The Rye” while playing episode 1. So Max’s comment on the red hunting hat made me giggle more than it should.
The fan theories
You can tell a game is really good when it keeps you puzzling for days. Discussing ideas, making up theories and hunting clues and easter eggs is part of the fun. It also helps to kill time waiting for the next episode to air.
The feels
Oh the feels.

Portrait Gallery
Painting portraits is hard. Maybe it's because we are so familiar with human faces,
that we notice even the slightest mistake in proportion or position of facial feautures.
But even when getting everything right and realistic, it's still an art of its own to make a portrait interesting.
I usually prefer paintings with visible brush strokes and vibrant colours.
But photorealistic or hyperrealistic portraits can be just as haunting and wonderful.
So here's a little gallery featuring some of my favourite portraits in all kind of unique styles.
Check out the artists' galleries! Maybe your next favourite artist is among them, too?

Nursery Rhyme
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is a novel by Ken Kesey published in 1962.
Set in an Oregon psychiatric hospital the book is narrated by "Chief" Bromden, an half-Native American
inmate who pretends to be deaf and mute. Through this guise he becomes privy to many of the ward's secrets.
Though his schizophrenia causes him to mix up reality and hallucination.

It's been a while a game has got me emotionally involved (like Bioshock: Infinite). And I agree w/ your comments on this game. It was a bit weird at first playing as a teenage girl (I'm a guy already in my mid 20's) but it was actually quite refreshing. Playing as a vulnerable, young girl, instead of the usual big hulking, bad ass protagonist. Really nice game. A simple 9/10
